As far as reading instruments goes, most folks don't have a clue and even after some training still get it wrong. I think that this remote diagnosis deal gets harder when you factor in the terminology problem. I really do try to be as detailed as I can. If I you told I never made any mistakes passing info, I'd be lying. People that can't describe a problem in a manner that I can understand, I can't help. More and more people use some sort of shorthand speak that doesn't relate enough details to be useful. I've been told I always get in on something late here. That's because I think about it first and then about how to word my reply. I'd like to be understood the first time if only to save somebody some > time. Lots of times, I just don't grasp what's being said and can't even start to reply. Mostly, a process is pretty easy. The more technical it gets the harder it becomes. I worked in a shop way back when and the foreman was big on telling you how to do something but never why. You did our job and didn't learn anything.
