Kurt, IMHO stock jets are too lean. Here is my old thread when I was working out the jetting on my bike.

When I did this it hadn't gotten hot yet here in MD, now that we are getting 95 degree weather the power is down a little and it loads up somewhat when I'm at a long red light. However on those cool mornings it begs for me to open it up. So considering I ride when ever it is above freezing and not raining, most of the year <80 degrees it is perfect, so I probably won't do much more than close the idle needle a 1/4 turn during July/August. Keep in mind your altitude; as the higher the elevation = the richer the mixture. Initially my main jets were 112. If you look at the side of you carb with the keihin logo on it you should see most likely VE and some number stamped on the carb body, which is the model I have and am basing the links below on. My final settings for my 1992 NH 750 are: Hodge mod 5x 1/4 in holes per side. Uni filter #115 main jets standard #38 slow jets adjustable needle on 3rd clip position ( same length as stock needle with 1x 1/32 #4 washer) 3 1/2 turns out on pilot jet screws (750 ft above sea level est.) Factory pro sells the parts separately as well. which would be cheaper than the kit.
