So, have a great deal of the bike stripped down, putting on my great pile of parts, and I discover that my brand new "B" cable is too short. It's the "push" cable of the pair, the safety closure cable. It's ~ 10mm too short, dagnabbit, so now I have to put the whole thing back together minus said cable's hook up while I figure out why it's too short. Also, discovered something alarming... I've been running sans filter! I opened up the air box to put a fresh seal on the lid and a new Uni in there (I hadn't quite gotten the chance to go about all my non-oil maintenance just yet) and was dumbfounded when I saw a wide open airbox. Ugh. No wonder it's been lean as crap this whole time. Aftermarket exhaust and no filter? Jeez... No telling how long it's been run without one, I might want to do a compression check once things are back together to make sure I haven't sucked down enough crap and dust to scar up cylinder walls. I also gave my air filter housing a bath and degreasing. Squeaky clean now! -Kurt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
