Allen,
          Regarding the GS Vs a NH - although I admit I haven't been
on a 750 NH, simply because I am too short to really ride one
comfortably, I think you'll find that the GS has superior power to the
80s NHs, and probably the 90s ones as well.
          Other than that - you'll find that besides being a Suzuki -
they are quite similar.
          When I got on the GS-1000 for the first time, I felt like I
was riding a super big 450 NH. Heavier, more powerful, but handles
roughly the same and is a rather simple motorcycle all things
considered.
