IMHO
I wouldn't stress so much about one stud.  If you have a limited season to 
ride, enjoy it while you can.  I rode my 550 for 8 months until I took the 
pipes off to repaint them & found 2 broken studs!  The pipes aren't going 
anywhere.

Ugh. Nightmare! I've been soaking it in on blaster since last night and have 
been today as well. My vice grips are kinda cheapy. They're from harbor freight 
out of one of their all in one tool sets. Might go to Sears and grab a "nice" 
pair.
