+1 on fuel injection, if your willing to spend the money on a fairly new bike then I would seriously recommend you get FI. I would also plan on keeping your NH at least 6-8 months if you don't need to sell it to make the new purchase. Simply because myself and 3 other riding buddies have all found a renewed love for the nighthawks after the newness wears off of the New ride. I'd bet the NH is a much more enjoyable bike to ride solo, for shorter distances <200 miles. I know you enjoy long trips so I get why you want the larger bike. Also have you spent any time on a V-twin? They shake like mad, although I hear some of the Japanese versions can be fairly smooth. Just something else to consider when you make a selection, if the vibrations make you hands go numb that could affect your ability to do long distance touring in comfort.
