I used to have a Slipstramer II on it, which doesn't have the lower extensions, but I now have at PlexiFairing III on it, which does. This still doesn't satisfy me, because I still get so much wind off the pavement that it actually lifts my visor on my 3/4 helmet. Granted, this is when I'm going 75 down the highway with my feet on the highway pegs, but since I've been using the Nighthawk as a highway bike, I can do that for hours.First I bought a modular full-face helmet. Then, I played around with a homemade air foil, meaning I put sheet metal from Home Depot under the tank and sticking out on both sides. Looks like hell, but it helps. The sheet metal actually ends up pointing slightly down, while it should really be pointing up to lead the air away from my face. I could continue experimenting until I have shields pointing up (directing air down) on both sides, but in the meanwhile I got a heck of a deal on a 2007 Suzuki Bandit 1250S with Givi bags, which I think I announced a while back. The fairing works great now that I've got a high windshield on that (but no highway pegs yet). I haven't spent the money to retitle and tag the Bandit, since my jury is still out on the riding position of the Bandit (too aggressive). What's a mother to do?
If I can get one of my PC800s to where I think they're good for a 7,000 mile trip, I may just ride one of them and sell the Bandit at a tidy profit to pay for the trip. My problem is that there are so few people with my set of circumstances that the bike companies don't build for me. That 650 Nighthawk looked like it could work, but alas it's from a bygone era, plus it has no bags <sigh>. I remember the days when I had one all-purpose bike. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
