Darin: unfortunately I don't know as the fuel filter came with the bike. 
Never had an issue with it around town and even driving backcountry roads 
at 50-60 mph. We only ran into fuel starvation when going >60 mph on the 
freeway. 

Yeah, I'd like to add an inline filter as well, but for now, both the 650 
and the 700 have none. I bought this one:

 but 
didn't realize how big it is. Still, if I can get it in I'll try it out on 
the 700. This filter is more than double the size of the one that choked 
the 650.
