Forgive me, I've been on many forums but never a google group before. The
format seems a little different.

Anyways, I bought an '83 CB650SC a few months back for $400. She didn't run
and was sitting for many years. I had an '85 NH 650 about 22 years ago and
loved it, so this is kind of a passion project for me. I brought her back
home to MA and first tried to get her started. The tank was shot,
completely coated in rust and gunk on the inside, so I ran a seperate fuel
source to her and put a new battery in her.
Nothing.
So I started at the starter and noticed brand new cables going to it. The
original owner obviously tried to get her started.
A quick voltage test found no power going to the starter. I followed the
wires back and there was a very small gauge wire that was broken. I
connected it and she cranked right over.
A quick look in the oil and I realize it's brand new... the guy tried to
bring her back before giving up.
A little starter fluid and she started right up, but only with full choke.

Since that time I've been working on the body parts and other little items.
Rather than walk through all of the 'little' projects, you can see my
progress here:

I just put the clearcoat on her and have wetsanded/buffed her up. I'll get
another pic in a day or two.
Still plenty to do: rebuild slave cylinder, both master cylinders, both
calipers, forks, front tire, new exhaust, rebuild carbs... goal is to have
her on the road next May.
