I occasionally see bounces from gmail. If there are silent drops,
I don't know about them. The bounces typically are either

(1) gmail randomly decides a particular message is spam

(2) gmail enforces my SPF record by bouncing some message that really
is from me but didn't come in from my IP address. This typically is
the result of somebody misconfiguring their personal-domain mail
handler to forward to gmail, without jumping through whatever hoops
are needed to prevent SPF checks on the forwarded mail. (If indeed
that's even possible; damifino.)

I guess it's nice that they let me know about non-delivery, but
behavior (2) certainly risks spam amplification of actually-forged
mail.
