I've never in all the many many years I've been using Bill Payer had a
recipient refuse to accept a check, including my horseshoer who
operates a one-man company out of the back of his pickup. Bill Payer
checks from my CU look like any other check generated by any other
company. Nor have I had a payment arrive late for any reason other
than my own failure to schedule appropriately.

From all your posts, it sounds like either I'm extraordinarily lucky,
or you ought to consider finding a new bank. By the way, I *have* had
my EFT stolen. I've also had a debit card stolen and a checkbook
stolen. In none of those cases did I have any trouble getting DCU to
honor it's fraud policies and refund my money.
