[apologies for the double, this was supposed to go to the list..]
Great stuff, I've been following Nova from the sidelines as I think it's a really interesting project but don't have much time to contribute right now. You seem to know your way around compilers pretty well (nova seems extremely efficient), and I'm glad you see you're documenting your thoughts. Just wanted to say though that lately I've cloned the repo and have been trying to get it working, but it doesn't compile successfully. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 at the moment. The output is very long, but ends with: release/libs/boost/libs/regex/src/wc_regex_traits.os: In function `boost::c_regex_traits<wchar_t>::transform_primary(wchar_t const*, wchar_t const*)': wc_regex_traits.cpp:(.text+0xc00): multiple definition of `boost::c_regex_traits<wchar_t>::transform_primary(wchar_t const*, wchar_t const*)' release/libs/boost/libs/regex/src/wc_regex_traits.os:wc_regex_traits.cpp:(.text+0xc00): first defined here collect2: ld returned 1 exit status scons: *** [release/py_nova.so] Error 1 scons: building terminated because of errors. There are about 1000 lines like this preceding it. In any case, I'm just wondering what system you are running on and if I have all the dependencies properly installed.. Anyways congratulations on finishing your thesis! thank, Steve 2008/5/2 Tim Blechmann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > dear friends, > > i uploaded my completed bachelor thesis about `nova - A New Computer > Music System with a Dataflow Syntax' to my website ... > > http://tim.klingt.org/tim_blechmann-bachelor_thesis.pdf > > feel free to download & read it ... > > cheers, tim > > -- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://tim.klingt.org > > The aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values > William S.
