That issue (#1456) is in regard to providing AsciiDoc as Pandoc’s
*input* format, but my proposed toolchin is the following:

AsciiDoc --> DocBook5 (via AsciDoc’s own DocBook backend) --> ConTeXt
(using Pandoc’s  AsciiDoc writer)
