Title: RE: chronic problems
Same here.  I hate those flourecent lights.  Headache boxes.  In combonation with the 60-85 hz coming from your monitor,  they aren't that good on your eyes.  I just turned those off in my office and added small halogen desklamp.  and didn't point it toward the monitor,  but away and shining off the way.. just to add a soft glow.  That works nice.

What is your lighting like?  I turned off the florescent lights, and got a cheap lamp... I am doing much better.  One of my coworkers has a pair of anti-glare glasses, too.  They look like thing wire frame glasses, but she loves them.

Speaking of problems from this profession.  By the end of the day my eyes are red and hurt real bad from starring at monitors all day.  I went to the eye doctor and he said everything was fine.  Do any of you have this problem?  I've try changing monitors and resolution.  no good.
