I try to keep all installed items to a minimum. Instead, I use portable apps. My "must have" apps include: Firefox Portable Evince Portable (PDF Reader) Putty Portable WinSCP Portable (FileZilla Portable is also popular) PeaZip Portable WinDirStat Portable Others I would consider including: Some kind of VNC (UltraVNC, TightVNC, etc) 2X Client Portable (For it's RDP client) A file explorer, like Explorrer++ or FreeCommander A screenshot utility like Lightscreen. InfraRecorder Portable VLC Portable LibreOffice Portable, or AbiWord Portable. --Matt Ross Ephrata School District ----- Original Message ----- From: Jonathan [mailto:[email protected]] To: NT System Admin Issues [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thu, 08 Dec 2011 14:54:05 -0800 Subject: things to include in a vm template? > Hi everyone! > > It has been a while....I've been quite busy and haven't had much time > to do anything here other than occasionally lurk.... > > I'm in the midst of building some Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 > templates for my new vSphere 5 environment.
