I have to second this. Why would you ever do searches/browse from a server. The only place my web browser goes on the server is Microsoft sites to direct download a patch, etc or other application vendor sites for the same reason. In general I prefer to avoid even this and go workstation > server.
By avoiding Enhanced Security Configuration (as annoying as it is) you are bypassing the very reason it is there. Putty / WinSCP I get those, but they are only on our VMware Virtual Center Servers. None of our other systems have them so keeping them up to date is trivial. PDF Reader of any kind... Just a bad idea. Read docs on the workstation.
