I would personally hold off a few months on an HTC purchase, until there's
some news on the video driver front:

If I was on a GSM carrier, the one I'd be saving up for right now is the

Since I'm on Verizon and my choice of smartphones is limited, I'm going to
try to extend the life of my XV6700 as long as possible (already running WM6
on it) and hope for some Google Android action soon and/or that Verizon's
promise to open their network really comes to something soon.
