It's basically the power to the port, and how much draw each port can
handle.

Being a Nortel distributor, do not forget the Nortel line (5500 series)

Going with the Cheap-vs-Cisco/HP discussion...

I've done odd jobs with various companies in my area... and they look
for the cheapest possible solution. So, I've had my fair share with
Linksys, DLink and Netgear... and I must say, the Netgear ProSafe series
is defiantly the best of the cheap bunch. I also understand that DLink
has a new "buisness" line of switches, but I haven't had the *cough*
pleasure *cough* to play with them. Avoid Linksys like the plague.
Anybody want some Linksys SRW2048s?

That being said, when I can convince a client to go with HP or Cisco,
It's the way to go.

But, why is the HP and Cisco gear so expensive for POE switches? Sigh.
