Along the lines of insinuated Mac resiliency - its utter nonsense. I have been supporting them for years, and they can have the same glitchy behavior that apps do on Windows. Crash an app enough times, and oh guess what - you need to reinstall it because it became corrupted.
Of course, when looking in the Apple KB, they simply and briefly recommend that you reformat and start fresh. A good suggestion ultimately. If more PC owners did that, they would probably have less over-all problems too. They tend to provide fewer details that may confuse the user into trying other things. Apple is very good at the KISS concept. Which I think ultimately empowers their users to having a better running system more often. The thing that really cracks me up is that there is no defrag. The recommendation is to either copy all files off and then back onto your system - reformat and reinstall all your apps. But then all the zealots say that: no, Macs don't need to be defrag'd!
