Subject: Re: OT - Anyone VM a Mac Leopard OS on a PC?

I have just bought my second mac, a 2.4ghz Unibody 13" MacBook.

I absolutely love it - its fast, stunning to look at, both the OS and the
actual build of the thing, its light, it has very good battery life.

More importantly, it does everything that I need it to do, and does it well.

I *like* the fact that the OS is closed to the hardware - it means you don't
have any issues with compatibility or anything like that. Spec up a Dell laptop
to the same as my Macboook and Ill bet there is bugger all price difference
between the two. And I know which one I would prefer.

The 2.4Ghz model costs 1125 pounds on the Apple UK site (with 250GB disk and
2GB of RAM)

I went to the Dell website and you can get a top of the line XPS M1330 for 847
pounds (with 2x RAM and HDD), and for 50 pounds more you can get built in 3G.

Now, the styling of the Macbook might be to your liking - that's entirely up to
you. But a decent non-cheapie Dell costs about 300 pounds less than a decent
Macbook.

Cheers
Ken

OTOH, I have just sold a Sony Vaio laptop to a new client for £2800. Madness.

Sony you are paying for a brand - not a laptop. My wife has a top of the line
(at the time) SZ48. Gorgeous looking thing. Has two video cards too - years
before Apple had that (and just a toggle switch). Not the world's greatest
performing laptop though.
