Jim, you've summed up my experience much better than I was doing it.
I too work in the "advertising" world at a post house. I LOVE working
on my Mac (Could have something to do with the beautiful 30" Cinema
Screen ;-) ), but the work I do on it is more on the creative side. I
help out with the web developers in the Adobe CS3 apps, browse the
internet, and check mail.

As soon as I need to do any network troubleshooting, I jump on the
PC. I like the tools better (it could be the years of familiarity,
too.) I also think Office on my PC is WAY better than on the Mac.
Maybe I am just a sucker for marketing. Who knows.

As for science, I don't have empirical data to share. I haven't had
to dig that deep into it. My experience with the Adobe products isn't
bad at all on Windows. It just seems, to me, to be a lot smoother on
the Mac. And as far as Firefox goes,, it seems like I run into memory
consumption issues on the PC with 15+ tabs open. But again, it's not
bad. I wouldn't say I have problems on the PC, so I haven't really
dug in under the hood.
