Well, our Kyocera copiers do PDF as well. I've searched them. I'm not sure what makes a PDF searchable or not, so I can't say for sure. J

Some of the Canons can do searchable pdf, the ones with the "i" after the model number. I have all new Canons coming here in a couple of weeks replacing our current Canons which are just over 5 years old (we extended our service past the lease). ----- Original Message ----- From: David Mazzaccaro <mailto:[email protected]> To: NT System Admin Issues <mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 13, 2009 10:39 AM Subject: RE: Copiers Thanks The Xerox place is directly across the street. The Kyocera is our current provider (who isn't pushing Sharp anymore - thank goodness!) We do a lot of scanning, and the Xerox machines can scan directly to a searchable PDF file. They also claim they have some license agreement with Adobe to make a true PDF, and hence a much smaller file size. No one else scan to searchable PDF without 3rd party software. So I'm leaning towards Xerox, but anything will be better than our Sharps! _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, August 13, 2009 10:33 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Re: Copiers If they seem to spec the same, I'd shop for which vendor provides the best service for your area. -- Richard D.
