Thanks, problem is the Windows 2008 DVD cannot "see" any hard drives at all so
it never gives me the option of a volume to use. Really nasty

Hi,

Boot from Windows 2008 install DVD. At the screen where you are supposed to
pick the volume to install to, boldly click the "load drivers" link, and insert
a USB key containing the necessary mass storage controller drivers for your
PE1950.

Have a PE1950 which has Win2K Server. Would like to upgrade to Win2k8.
Machine has CD media is on DVD so I got USB DVD. Boots fine with Dell
startup/install DVD, when I try to install Server 2998 (is an option on menu)
install fails - cannot see DVD to get the OS files. If I boot from Windows
2008 DVD install cannot find the Hard drives.

Any of you had/solved this issue

Thanks
Bill
