Could be copier hardware certainly. Good idea on testing with Vipre on just one of the affected machines. Not saying that Vipre is the cause, just the fact that you believed the issue started at about the same time of Vipre implementation means Vipre needs to be looked at as a possible cause. Always better to approach a problem like this from more than one angle.
