Sorry.mis-read the original post. Actually, by default VNC *does* ask for
permission. If you install it and then go to the "server settings"  you can
configure all sorts of options, from requiring a password to NOT checking
for permission first. I have it installed on my desktop and when I go to the
VNC Server Properties (service mode) one of the options is "Prompt local
user to accept connections" and there's a separate checkbox to ONLY check
when someone is logged on.

Folks,

 

Any suggestions on a product that we can use for remote desktop access
whereby the user must approve access before we can see the desktop being
accessed?  

 

I'd like to use VNC, but prompting for permission is not possible (as far as
I can tell) so that can't be used.  And remote desktop won't work since we
need to be able to have the user see our actions (sometimes we remote in to
provide short training).

 

We already use gotoassist but I'm thinking of a more vnc-like product.

 

Suggestions appreciated.
