Sorry.mis-read the original post. Actually, by default VNC *does* ask for permission. If you install it and then go to the "server settings" you can configure all sorts of options, from requiring a password to NOT checking for permission first. I have it installed on my desktop and when I go to the VNC Server Properties (service mode) one of the options is "Prompt local user to accept connections" and there's a separate checkbox to ONLY check when someone is logged on.
