Not familiar w/Office2010, so I'm takin' a WAG here...

I am also still on XP Pro SP3.

In the system settings (in XP, it's SystemProperties - Advanced -
EnvironmentVariables), there are TEMP settings both for SYSTEM and for the
current user.

TEMP for SYSTEM points to .\admin$\TEMP

TEMP for current user points to %USERPROFILE%\LocalSettings\Temp.
Temporary Internet Files are another folder.

Again, this is for the much older OS, so the path (as well as where to
find the environment variables) may have changed.

May not work, but you've been given an idea. Hope it works, and good
luck!

Re: Win 7 IE Temp Environment variable woes "Outlook cannot create the
work file"

I know it has been less than 24 hours since I posed the question, and i'm
usually a pretty patient guy when it comes to this list, but the guy is
probably going to begin the format/reinstall process today if I don't have
a solution for him. Any ideas?
Thanks, and I apologize for being a pest.
