Garith, Doesnt this incident indicate that the absence of a dedicated ADT AR vehicle in Observatory precludes the likelihood of appropriate armed response times? Does this mean that there are not enough subscribers in Obs to merit a dedicated vehicle for the neighbourhood? The Oxford road bicycle patrol required about R18k per month to be viable, what would it cost to have dedicated vehicle? In my understanding the ADT vehicle that responds to Obs covers Mowbray, Maitland and Woodstock making it highly unlikely that response times can be adequate? We are ADT AR Subscribers which costs us about R327 per month or R4644 per annum . (ADT AR costs R18,380 in 5 years). ((the quoted figures exclude the bicycle patrol) If 5% of OBS residential properties are ADT AR subscribers, R327 x 125 = R40875 per month. (R490,500 per annum) Does it cost more than R41k per month to place a dedicated car in an area like Obs? Judging by the numbers of ADT AR boards displayed on premises around Obs there appear to be at least 200 x subscribers here.(R65400 per month) Garith a 24 minute response is not ok, surely? The explanation about the wind? C'mon Garith! Kris Marais
