I wish that was the answer - we keep all the keys in a basket at our
back door (just so we don't spend time getting older looking for keys -
which does happen.)

Subject: [obsnw] RE: Attempted break-in riddle

Hi,

I wonder if for some reason that you may have had the remote in your
hands, or where it was lying moved it accidentally touching the open
button for the gate.

This has happened to me on a few occasions where I have opened the door
to find the main gate standing wide open.

This could be my only reason why this has happened. I then fitted
sensors to the gate, so when you open them and the beam is not broken
after a set amount of time after opening the gate will automatically
close again.

Just a thought and how easily this can be done when least thinking by
movement of the remote this will set this motion off.

Doug

Subject: [obsnw] Attempted break-in riddle

Hi

Last night we had an attempted break in. The alarm attached to our beams
went off & when we went to investigate we saw that the gate that leads
to where we park our cars was open enough to let some one walk in. I
really don't understand how this can be - the gate is controlled by a
remote. It was not off its rails - my husband was able to use the remote
to close the gate, so it hadn't been taken off the rails - which would
have made sense if the gate was open. And both my husband and the ADT
guy tried to move the gate when it was closed & it would not move - it
is impossible to move it. Do you think it is possible that there is
another remote that can open our gate? I really don't understand how
else it could have been opened. Does anyone have any ideas?

Also wanted to say thanks to ADT - once again they were really quick -
they were at our house within a minute. And they are so friendly &
helpful - glad to have them around.
