Personally I think this is worth pursuing and apparently it has already been
looked at by some others - provided you can have the option of removing or
modifying your real e-mail address to reduce spam harvesting. Although I use
a real address in my newsreader and delete the spam without downloading it
from the mail server - some mail programs have this as an option.
With a robo-moderated group, spam messages will be bounced automatically.
