I have read quite a few benchmarks on Vista vs Windows 7. The general gist I
have got is that Windows 7 is faster in some ways, and slower in some ways when
comparing 32 bit Windows 7 vs 32 bit Vista. eg quite a few measurements show
Windows 7 is slightly slower to boot.
Once you go to 64 bit, then Windows 7 does seem about 15% faster than 64 bit
Vista.
Looks like Windows 7 still suffers "Windows Rot" - ie after a simulated 2 years
of use the boot time gets up to about 2-3 minutes with lots of apps installed
and lots of use and restarts.
Important Question - How does one check if a system takes 64 bit?
I currently have a 32bit Vista, but been wondering if a one year old Intel
Centrino dual core does do 64 bit - it already has 4GB RAM. Thinking of
upgrading - 64 bit looks like a better option if the hardware does it.
And any issues installing D2007 on 64 bit?

well not THIS problem but then you dont need to GLUE or SCREW any extra
hardware to your computer like the 16kb ram packs ont ZX81's !! :-)
