Uh, no. The OGB are aware of the relevant issues, and I suspect (but cannot speak for them) that they share some of your concerns. The problem is that they are utterly powerless. They aren't even puppets -- they are all rather disconnected from the decision makers at Oracle, I think. None of them are in the direct employ of Oracle, that I'm aware. If anything, some of the prior statements and actions of some of the same members have strongly demonstrated (to me at least) they they are anything *but* Oracle or Sun shills. Josh, I'm going to be direct and to the point here. You may have some valid points, but the approach of hostility towards the project, Oracle, Oracle employees, and the elected OGB that you've displayed is entirely unconstructive, and does more to invalidate your points than anything anyone at Oracle might say. Please either find a way to contribute constructively, or go ahead and leave the project. Rabble raising and telling Oracle you're going to go somewhere else is probably not helpful... in fact at this point they're probably *hoping* you'll go away. How much money have you spent on Sun products so far? Unless you represent a major customer, then its unlikely (IMO) that Oracle (or anyone else) is going to want to have you here simply because all you've done is gripe and try to act as a source of strife. For the folks who *don't* work at Oracle (of which I am now one), I think your actions are actively destructive. At this point, the community needs Oracle more than Oracle needs the community, and doing anything which might drive Oracle to walk away from this community is destructive and ultimately such a result would be a shame. -- Garrett _______________________________________________ ogb-discuss mailing list ogb-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ogb-discuss
