The problem which Robotech ran into is that of dealing with the
difference in
the way the Old Master Ace develops compared with the Young Hotshot.
After all since we are trying to play that universe there has to be a
way of coping
with the way Roy starts off better than Max and Rick, but they develop
additional
skills faster.
And telling the players roy is a higher level rules out playing one of
the
stereotypes form the begining of the story, and doesn't explain why the
other
two end up better than him. The episode Roy dies in is a good example of
that.
