That's not a drop in the bucket for *any* game company.

However, it's worth asking which items really need to be closed off in order
to protect your essential property.  Publishers will have to fumble their
way along, learning the pros and cons through trial and error -- the risk on
one side of losing a sense of control over the use of your intellectual
property, and the risk on the other of alienating the Open Gaming Community
by making it too hard for other people to use your blocks in their buildings
(and thus making your product essentially less appealing).  Feedback from
the communities of fans, reviewers and developers will, I imagine, play a
role in shape a community consensus of what is the appropriate way to handle
it.
