Isn't this similair to the idea of having a "OGL" mark, like the one that
went around the list last year -- a D6 with an open side?

Not that I'm recommending this, but couldn't an enterprising person, once
the SRD has been released under OGL, take the entire SRD -- perhaps reformat
it slightly, throw in a couple of spells/items/monsters -- and create a new
"Dolphin SRD." They could then create a new LOGO for this SRD and create a
D20STL type license for the LOGO, but without the character creation
limitations and specifically allow Conversion rules from other systems.
You then post the hole thing on a web site. D20 publications, modules,
source books, etc -- can then provide a one page "Conversion Rules" between
their publication and the "Dolphan SRD" and optionaly use the "Dolphan
LOGO," new OGL only publications could just use the "Dolphan LOGO" directly.
