A storyline is something that is particularly
well-suited to being PI, in my opinion. A storyline
is not a game mechanic. A monster or a spell or a
magical item _is_, and that's why I think it makes
more sense and is better for the network to keep them
in Open Content. People who create campaign worlds
may have every intention of writing novels or even
comic books based on that world, and I can absolutely
understand their wanting to keep the story elements in
PI. The OGL has a few shortcomings with regard to
managing a shared story, and I'm sure that if people
put their minds to it they'd come up with a way to
keep worlds from being hijacked and to keep some kind
of core continuity.

As I understand it, you can't include the original
author's name in your advertising unless he gives you
permission. Additionally, if he has put the name of
his product or his campaign world in PI, you can't
mention that without his permission either. If you
merely include his creatures and his magic items,
which he didn't put in PI, there's little damage, as I
see it.
