You are overreaching.  Marks used without permission that indicate
"compatibility or co-adaptability" are prohibited.  Marks that do not
indicate "compatibility or co-adaptability" are allowed.  So it is fine to
have a Colt rifle or an ice cold Coke in the game, so long as you do not
indicate that your game is Compatible with Colt products or is co-adaptable
to caffinated beverages made in Atlanta.  Merely saying that a feat is
"inspired by" or "acts like" a plot point in a particular comic is probably
not enough to trigger the clause.  Indicating that this feat makes it
possible to convert characters from a Ranma 1/2 RPG would definitely invoke
the clause.  At least, that's how I see it.
