[SNIP REST OF POST]

I don't think WotC could ever really allow parts of
starwars to become open content in the sense that others
could make their own supplements and adventures based
on it, since they only have a licence to use the starwars
universe from lucas and not the copyright on it (as they
do with D&D)

AFAIK and I may be wrong, Lucas reserve the right to
prevent any product to do with StarWars from been
released if they beleive it would damage the universe they
have created and damage future sales.

This would mean there would be no way people could
freely make new adventures for starwars and sell them.
However I might be wrong in that respect, and at the
moment people are quite happily releasing adventures on
the internet for use with the old starwars system and Lucas
do not seem to have a problem with that. But I think they
may do if it ever came to the point were things were
released commercially.

Although this could be academic since everything i said
could be wrong, or Lucas could infact release sections
of the starwars universe under OGL, although I expect
they would be very very careful what they actually
released, since it would seriously damage the amount
of money they make off of starwars merchandising.

does anyone think it would be likly that lucas would
do any such thing? I hope so :-)

Um I didnt have anything to add to the original topic
of the posts think you pretty much summed up what I
would have said :)
