I tend to agree with Alec. The d20 mag as written
really cant be an open content publication (even
though it contains the OGL). I really think WotC needs
to be more clear about this, ie: "This product
contains the OGL for illustrative purposes. This
product is not a work covered by that license. Any
Open Content referenced here is listed as a aid to the
reader and any reference to that content must refer to
the original source which contains it." Because if
they meant for us to cite to the open content in the
magazine, they did a shitty job. Which leads me back
to agreeing with Alex--this cant be an open content
publication.
