There is something wrong with an adventure desinger requiring that.  Any 
game product I pick up should say what it's required to be used 
with--and to the greatest extent possible, it should be self-contained. 
 I hate obsucre adventures that give no reference as to what the 
abberations *look* like; it really kills the adventure when your DM has 
to stop and look up what the new fangled monster looks like.
