Cloaker lords have no arms. They have little batlike claws in their
illustration, which don't warrant a mention in the accompanying text. A
cloaker lord doesn't *have* a distinct head, much less a humanoid one.
Apparently now you're claiming that "two eyes and a mouth = humanoid." A
cloaker lord has as many "humanoid" qualities as a manta ray.

I'll be honest. The last time I heard an argument like this, it was
coming from a player in my gaming group who had read the MM and was now
cooking up long, desperately convoluted arguments for why his 1st-level
PC would know just about every detail found therein. I believe that the
only reason you find the SRD mind flayer "obviously" humanoid is that
you've seen mind flayer illustrations for however many years and, in
gamer terms, are now unable to separate out your "player knowledge" from
"character knowledge."

P.S.: In one adventure I wrote for Ravenloft, the mind flayer villain
*did* look like a normal person "until the tentacles came out." :)
