I don't see why. Other than the material still officially unreleased, 'open is open, and open is forever'. Once WOTC has released open content into the wild, nothing can force users of that content to revise it or change to keep in accord with later material. (Well, on the open gaming side. In theory, the STL can change in any number of truly odious ways, but I don't think that's too likely. The last really major kick in the teeth -- the miniatures clause -- came with months of advance discussion.)

"Magic missile", for example, is now open game content. If WOTC releases a new SRD with a new version of MM, publishers may use it, use the old one, or combine them, or create their own totally different spell called 'Magic Missile'. (This would be stupid for many reasons, but they could do it.)
