Well, no one would argue this, strictly speaking. But I don't see a substantial difference between changing the Pit Fiend's spell-like ability list and say removing "Mord" from his Disjunction. Folks seem to tread lightly about these things -- and rightly so. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.
I can't imagine new monsters (like in CC or other books) being forced to change format, but existing ones from the MM? Unless there is a new mechanism put in place I don't see any legal way around it. I'm no expert, but my amateur eye doesn't see anything in the gentleperson's agreement that makes upgrading/updating to the official SRD optional.
Of course, all of this assumes that the original monsters won't be made official and that the official SRD won't be updated rather than coexistent with the new revisions. I don't know why I'm being so pessimistic, it really isn't like me.
