In case you don't know: the OHR is written in FreeBASIC, not QuickBasic. To me, writing programs in QuickBasic back-in-the-day using the DOS editor/interpreter just seemed so much fun, while writing FreeBASIC programs using a plan old text editor and compiling them manually isn't. So if mean practising with QB in order to become a FreeBASIC programmer, then that's not necessarily a bad idea. Just realise QB encourages lots of really bad habits.
