Yes I know I came off as about at cuddly as a porcupine with p.m.s. but after 13 hours in a car, little sleep for the last few days and the convention constant of being scared to death that an avused character is going to come and kill me, I am tired of the 'outsider' concept.
We are a small bloodline at the moment and half the people who approach and ask about making a character want to either be avused in or a lost child of the family. Sorry but that snowflake is no longer original. I am normally not such a crankypants (even though I kicked a 30 person killbox out of our room so 3 of us could RP) but we are suppose to be playing a family. We are suppose to be all about family first. I want to see more of that. Before clan, before covenant, before coterie there is family. We should be able to trust each other totally and not have to worry if someone is selling our secrets or is betraying us to gain another faction's favor. If some PCs want to have disagreements with each other that is fine. Not all families get along. I happen to have a very dysfunctional family but they are still my family and I would do anything for them. Would anyone actually try to kill another family member? Or call up an employer and try to get them fired because they said something that you didn't like? Or arrange to have them publicly embarrassed just because you think it is funny? No. If they irritate you, you just ignore them and not call at Christmas and then lie about it later saying that Great Aunt Ruth wouldn't stop talking and by the time you got off the phone it was too late to call. As to IRC. I am not on nearly as much as I used to be. When Brian was out at sea I had a lot of time to kill so I would sit at home on IRC. Now that he is home I like to spend time with him (and Warhammer Online). However, when someone has arranged for an IRC get together or if several of us say that we are going to attend an IRC game then I am there. If we want to take turns hosting family gatherings and all meet online just let me know when and where and I will be there. If you want to talk character stuff and prefer IRC then just let me know when and I will be there. If you want to do a private scene with my character just let me know and I am there.
