I was gonna hit you up offlist about this, but hell...we're all Family, right? ;-)
So, Gabriel's dear Abigail. Well, you see...everyone around these parts think one of two things... A) She's an american born sangiovanni, who isin't very old. B) She's a Venician born Sangiovanni who just plays modern American very well, and is pretty fuckin old. Here is whats funny about the entire thing. Yeah, she's kinda old. Yeah, she's Sangiovanni. But...doesn't have a single app to her name. Why? A) She isin't old enough to need an age app B) She's Sangiovanni, but her bloodline isin't activated, hence no need for an app. C) She's the product of brother/sister incest, who followed the great example of their parents, who uh...happen to be brother/sister too. Heh. So why, you might ask (other than how we can be such sickos?) why am I telling you all this? Because what you want to do is possible. The reason we did this was that after a discussion with my RST, he thought it would be really cool for a "Sangiovanni" to work their way up IC in game to being "kindred" Sangiovanni. So, we accomplished this with a brand-spanking new player, who happens to be a *great* roleplayer. This character came in, and people ooc got pissy! "How can this brand new player have an RST approval character right out the gate?!?" The answer is: she doesn't. But, they don't know that IC. This came with a lot of work. I have personally mentored ooc, and have taken IC accountability. She's Gabriel's childe. But, she has grown into the character. When she came in, she was known to the Family, just not allowed on any of the lists. She was with her Family to learn to be Family. She's earned the *privilege* to be on the Sangiovanni IC list in game. It took RP, getting Ric and Brandon to sign off on it IC, and now she's getting to know her Family globally. She's still Mekhet. But, shes getting to the point the RP will happen for her to activate her blood. It will be an awesome RP scene, and a huge celebration. She has to *earn* the privlege to sit at the big kids (Sangiovanni) table, and she will. ;-) Or I'll kill her. *j/k...sorta*. So yeah. I think we should see more of that. This has not just given the player a unique opportunity of role-play, but the NW Sangiovanni get the opportunity to RP with someone going through the steps of becoming Sangiovanni, not "Hey, I'm a big Cattivaria wielding scary wombat of doom. Fear my Cruac/Coils/Theban mixed with crazy!" She'll get there, but its taking time. Done right, I think you have a very feasible, workable idea. Gabriel is her Grandfather, and her Uncle, and her Husband....all at the same time. ;-) Now that I have horrified (or not) you all, I've said enough (too much) The age/american-born part is going to be your biggest hurdle I think.
