I've just about reached the limit on my patience...

My Linux system is a 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04, and that may be part of the
problem.
I am not an expert Linux user/programmer and so have not found "all" of
the ways to get around issues.

I've had 64-bit ooRexx 4.1.0 installed, but as you may know from my
previous emails, I need to run the 32-bit version so that I can use
REXXSQL to access some databases from Linux.

I tried to download the 32 bit version of ooRexx 4.1.0 from Sourceforge

The file downloads and immediately invokes the GDebi 0.6.0ubuntu2
installer - there does not appear to be any way for me to download the
package and "just save it" without getting this attempted automatic
install. (I prefer using the Synaptic Package Manager, but have also
had some experience in using the APT command line commands.)

Since the download package is a 32-bit, and my system is a 64-bit I
immediately get the error message: Wrong architecture 'I386'
and there is no way that I know of to save the download file so that I
can use APT... nor does there appear to be a way to override the
"Architecture" error message. (I do have the IA-32 package installed,
and have had for a long time.)

I went to the RexxLA website to see if I could "rename" the file during
the download process - and discovered that the links there for ooRexx
4.1.0 are pointing to apparently non-existant locations at Sourceforge.

So, I went back to SourceForge to see if any of the Save "link as"
functions would work, and they will not due to the fact that Sourceforge
in there infinite wisdom ALWAYS displays a web page now when you try to
download. Even the "direct link" references points to a web page...

Any suggestions?
