no, it wouldn't. it was determined that the screen itself (LCD or otherwise) was emitting sufficient radiation so that you could read off it from a distance. only when they tried red text on green background the scientists were not able to read the information. of course, that combination couldn't be accepted, as 4% of the population has some sort of green/red color blindness...
