Maybe I'm biased from my own rate of progress, but IMHO, the schematic editor (let alone the entire HIDE) would be too much for two months for a single student. We should split it into several individual projects somehow. What parts can be worked on simultaneously? Alternatively, we could specify that the project goal is a prototype. A prototype would still be very useful to us for playing with the look and feel to flesh out the exact requirements of the final IDE.
