That we should definitly do. A student isn't a seasoned programmer
and thus not very fast. And he'll need time to get up to speed.

I wouldn't let a student to a prototype on which we base things.
I've been a student long enough to know that what a student does
has always a lot of details that are not completely right. If these
"mistakes" are in the core design, we'll have to deal with them
for a long long time.

I would rather propose to make design studies for a GUI, experimenting
with the best aproach. That could be even done independend of the language
we use in the end.
