I agree, but there could be also the possibility for setting variables the C way you
mentioned before as well.
i.e.
container = expression
e.g.
myVariable = (5+7+anotherVariable)

This would not interfere with the compatibility with HyperTalk. It would just be an
additional bonus. It could also be used in a more english syntax.

Just ideas:

myVariable = (5 + 7 + anotherVariable)
card field "myField" = "Hello World!"

myVariable equals (5 + 7 + anotherVariable)
card field "myField" equals "Hello World!"

myVariable is equal to (5 + 7 + anotherVariable)
card field "myField" is equal to "Hello World!"

myVariable contains (5 + 7 + anotherVariable)
card field "myField" contains "Hello World!"
